Southern Comforts Fall Festival

It's a beautiful fall weekend here in North Carolina
temps are in the 70's with an awesome blue sky!
I hope to get out and enjoy it this afternoon but I've got
what we call " the creepin crud " of a cold....so I'm in front
of the computer checking out what all of you have been up to...
maybe a walk later... right now I want to tell you about my Saturday....

Sandra and I spent yesterday at the 1st Annual
Southern Comforts Antique & Fall Festival
in Salisbury, NC
A perfect day for it too!
the collage above is just a portion of the venders that
were set up inside and outside of the Rowan County Fairgrounds
antiques, junk, primitives
vintage jewelry, handcrafted items
fresh produce, flowers
and good food!
Southern Comforts is an fabulous antique shop
located in Concord, NC

we met a lot of great people who share a
love for things from the past...
two of our favorite junkin friends were there
first...Tammy from ReFunked Junk

she had a wonderful eye catching display set up outside
great cabinets & farm tables
we love her re-funked/re-purposed/altered jewelry
she was very busy the whole time we were in her space

she had a fab collection of jewels for Halloween!!

loved these....

I wish I had a link for you to go and see more of her stuff
BUT...she doesn't have a blog yet...
she's a teacher and very busy...
but I'm working on her to get one started

This guy had the best looking produce!
all grown locally !! it looked like the produce stand in June not October!!
I was impressed and came home with two great "big purple" tomatoes
can't wait to have that sandwich later...yummers!

fall flowers and pumpkins were set up
outside too...they had already sold a ton of stuff when
I snapped this pic...

The other friend set up there was
rock star junker- Beth - from
her space was inside & let's just say
AWESOME!!! She totally rocks the vintage displays!!
I just loved all the screen doors lining the back wall
chippy cabinets,wooden stools and boxes
with straw tucked in every little nook & crannie
bittersweet and lucious smelling candles

I wanted to take one of everything home with me...

I'm saving up for her
Christmas Tyme @ The Markeplace
Dec 3 - 5
back at her shop in Marsvhille
if you are local you should plan to attend!!
Here's the loot we did come home with...

a few more jewels for my altered jewelry I'm
making for the show

and all this ...

vintage suitcase ,seltzer bottle & a great old basket
old frames for chalkboards and cork boards
feedsacks and ticking fabric for totes and table runners
vintage sheet music for wreaths and ornaments
playing cards and game pieces for altered jewelry
cookie cutters, a vintage leather coin purse
clock faces & a cool vintage document box
alot of "smalls"...as we junkers call it
It was a good day!!!

If you are local and would like information on the
Holiday Sale we are having Nov. 13th
contact me thru email @

Sandra and her sweet Momma have been doing this show for
30 years- this years promises to be another great sale!!

Hope to see you there!

XoXo

  7. Tammy,
The show looks fabulous! I'm afraid if we'd been there together, we'd have had to arm wrestle for some of the great stuff you brought home! If you do the birds on your porch, I'm sure it will look wonderful! Im sitll not sure what I'm going to do but had better do something soon!
