The tree is finally up!
My daughter and I bundled up little Hannah Sunday night
drove a short distance to Black's Produce here in Denver
looked at about 50 HUGE trees and then picked our 7 footer
The guys there trimmed it and loaded into the trunk of my car
we were back home with the tree in the stand within 30 minutes
It only took me two more days to find the lights! :-/
Here's a shot with just the lights ....
the pic doesn't show it but there are 1200 lights on that tree!!
see that chippy white bassinet underneath the tree?
My Grandmother gave it to me when Meghan was born
It was given to her when my Dad was born...
So it's prob about 75-80 years old...
I'm going to fill it with wrapped gifts
I. Love. It!!
These are a FEW of my vintage ornaments...
many of these were my Grandmothers
I made these cookie cutter oraments this year for the tree
I used Christmas Hymns from an old Baptist Hymnal I got
at Goodwill for a dollar
They were quick and fun to make!!
Here's shot of the tree with most of the ornaments on
I don't do garland...but I considered making one
with the vintage sheet music...I still might...:-)
This little snow angel was a new addition to my
vintage collection this year
I have a box full of ornaments that my daughter
made but these are the only two that I still put on the tree
The little log cabin, my sweetie's daughter ~ Lauren~
made for me about 15 years ago...so cute!!
See the little 3-d tree in the back?.... that one my daughter made
when she was 5...she's 27 now.
I love how they look together...
I have so many ornaments...this year I weeded alot out
I love the vintage and handmade ones so I'm sticking with those
I'm using alot of nature inspired decorations this year...
When I was in North Myrtle Beach after Thanksgiving I
brought home a huge bag of pinecones...
so I made this for my shed door
it was fairly easy - except those pinecones are prickly little boogers!!
I used green velvet/satin ribbon bought at Habitat Restore ( a whole roll for $1.50)
and hot glue...so it basically cost me $1.50 to make!
LOVE how it turned out!
and these nature inspired balls are from another dealer
@ Treasures On Main...she made them...
I should have bought more...I was there today and
they were all but gone!
The Stars are samples from a gift line I repped years ago...
I love this white ruler as a star!
Here's my mantle...I changed it up a bit
just using the bottle brush wreath and trees with
my lighted garland and vintage bibles
I'll be home tomorrow with little Hannah
(she's sick with ear and eye infections...:-(...)
So I'm making burlap stockings to hang on the fireplace
and finish up any other decorating I have...
and start to WRAP!!!
Hope you all are enjoying the Holiday Season so far...
I have a favorite/special recipe for you coming Saturday
anyone out there like Chocolate???
If you do ...
You.Will.Love.It!
till then
XoXo
