The tree is finally up!
My daughter and I bundled up little Hannah Sunday night
drove a short distance to Black's Produce here in Denver
looked at about 50 HUGE trees and then picked our 7 footer
The guys there trimmed it and loaded into the trunk of my car
we were back home with the tree in the stand within 30 minutes
It only took me two more days to find the lights! :-/
Here's a shot with just the lights ....

the pic doesn't show it but there are 1200 lights on that tree!!
see that chippy white bassinet underneath the tree?
My Grandmother gave it to me when Meghan was born
It was given to her when my Dad was born...
So it's prob about 75-80 years old...
I'm going to fill it with wrapped gifts

I. Love. It!!

These are a FEW of my vintage ornaments...
many of these were my Grandmothers

I made these cookie cutter oraments this year for the tree
I used Christmas Hymns from an old Baptist Hymnal I got
at Goodwill for a dollar
They were quick and fun to make!!
Here's shot of the tree with most of the ornaments on

I don't do garland...but I considered making one
with the vintage sheet music...I still might...:-)

This little snow angel was a new addition to my
 vintage collection this year

I have a box full of ornaments that my daughter
made but these are the only two that I still put on the tree
The little log cabin, my sweetie's daughter ~ Lauren~
made for me about 15 years ago...so cute!!
See the little 3-d tree in the back?.... that one my daughter made
when she was 5...she's 27 now.
I love how they look together...

I have so many ornaments...this year I weeded alot out
I love  the vintage and handmade ones so I'm sticking with those
I'm using alot of nature inspired decorations this year...
When I was in North Myrtle Beach after Thanksgiving I
brought home a huge bag of pinecones...
so I made this for my shed door

it was fairly easy - except those pinecones are prickly little boogers!!
I used green velvet/satin ribbon bought at Habitat Restore ( a whole roll for $1.50)
and hot glue...so it basically cost me $1.50 to make!
LOVE how it turned out!
and these nature inspired balls are from another dealer
@ Treasures On Main...she made them...
I should have bought more...I was there today and
they were all but gone!
The Stars are samples from a gift line I repped years ago...

I love this white ruler as a star!
Here's my mantle...I changed it up a bit
just using the bottle brush wreath and trees with
my lighted garland and vintage bibles
I'll be home tomorrow with little Hannah
(she's sick with ear and eye infections...:-(...)
So I'm making burlap stockings to hang on the fireplace
and finish up any other decorating I have...
and start to WRAP!!!

Hope you all are enjoying the Holiday Season so far...
I have a favorite/special recipe for you coming Saturday
anyone out there like Chocolate???
If you do ...
You.Will.Love.It!
till then

Advent Calendar Collage

I finished my Advent Calendar...
(I know I'm a week late)
But I took my time finding all the right pieces
I wanted to fill it with....
and I didn't have the size tags I needed
so I had to hand cut all 25 tags
I could have used a bigger frame and may change it out later
but this is what I had for now...
I have it propped on my mantel next to my
collection of vintage bibles....

some of the treasures I already had...
some were from other dealers picked up along the way
the vintage embellished bottle I made

I love the vintage thistle in the music cone
and the little wire bird- she came from my friend Beth
@ Old Thyme Marketplace

the vintage leather coin purse is a fav too..
I have three more just waiting for a project!
Well...there you have it...
My inspiration for this project came from
The Ole Grey Mare
she's keeping her's up all year....
think I will too!
Linking up with Faded Charm
for White Wednesday and
My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia

My Favorite Things....

Thought I would do a little post about some of my favorite things...
Donna @ Funky Junk Interiors is doing a link party

opportunity to get to know our "virtual friends" better!
All of you wonderful followers of JUNK WILD already
know that I love all the vintage stuff like...
White Ironstone
Wire Baskets
White Chippy Furniture
White Cotton Ruffled Linens
Old Books
Blue Mason Jars
(and the rest...you all know what I'm talking about)

about me...

First thing in the morning I like my Green Tea...
but make no mistake...
I'm still a coffee drinker ( dunkin donuts is my fav)

I like knowing I can get online anywhere in my house
anywhere I'm traveling...
It's fairly new...bought it last year @ Wal-Mart
yep...Wal-Mart...got a great deal which makes it even better!

I used to have alot of handbags...recently I weeded out all the trendy ones
and kept only  the ones that I really love
I have a beautiful leather Coach handbag that a dear friend
bought for me while on a trip to Chicago...
I love, love, love this "buttery leather" bag
the color, the style...it's perfect!

I also love all of my boots...
my boots are one of the main reasons that I love winter
My sweetie gave me new boots for my birthday last month
I haven't bought them yet....so I'm excited to go out
boot shopping this week!

I have a huge collection of silver earrings...
and tons of favorites....my sweetie has given me
several Lucky Brand pairs that I adore
but there is one pair that I wear all. of. the. time.
these are my Lois Hill earrings...

 like many others...
I LOVE MY IPHONE!!!
I didn't get all the whooptido when the it first came out...
but man.... I get it now...
this phone is the JAM!
I would be lost with out my IPhone!
I can check emails, facebook and twitter
 take pics & videos
have all my fav tunes downloaded for when I'm working out
have all of Hannah's favorite cartoons and movie clips
saved in You Tube for when she gets restless
 while we are out shopping
my to do lists and calendar
My fav app is Around Me....
If you have the IPhone and don't have Around Me
Get it...it's free...it's awesome
Ok..Enough about the phone

at the end of the day...
I like my wine
red or white
no matter to me
I enjoy a glass each night while
reading all my favorite blogs!!

The Next Phase...

The last shows are finished....Yippie!!!
Here's a few pics of my booth display.
It was a challenge fitting everything onto one 8ft table...

I could only display handmade items...
so you'll see a few vintage items but they are only for props..
I thought it looked pretty good...
what do you think?

Lots of jewelry...
charms, rings, cuffs...

flour sack towells, ticking pillows, lavender sachets....

burlap stockings, magnets from mini scrabble tiles
& ornaments made from brown paper

the vintage sheet music ornaments and wreaths
are my favorties!! and I sold alot too...
always happy when the customer likes what I made!

this is one of the dozen bottles I embellished
I LOVED making these
and...they were a BIG hit!!!
I only had 3 left!

vintage stamped silver pieces...

Everything that was left from the two shows this weekend
have now been placed in the booth space @
Treasures On Main
When Sandra & I went to the space today...
we had alot of holes to fill after the Open House this weekend
another ....Yippie!!!
I do not put anything in that space that I do not truly love and
would put in my own home...
so I'm always thrilled when pieces sell!!!
I would love to hear your feedback on these handmade items...
and the booth display...any ideas will be greatly appreciated!
and for the Next Phase of JUNK WILD...
....STAY TUNED FRIENDS....
an Etsy Shop is coming in the next two weeks!!!

Open House @ Treasures on Main

Tonight was the opening night for our
Christmas Open House @
Treasures On Main in Lincolnton, NC
For those of you that are not locals...
we are located in beautiful North Carolina
right in the center of the state ( about)  & just a few hours from the beautiful
mountains and beaches! It's a grand place to live!
Three days we spent ...completely re-arranging the space for Christmas!
Lots of new treasures, vintage and handmade were added...
take a look...

I carried those big branches from Sandra's yard in my car ...
it was a mess..but worth it in the end...
I hung all of my vintage sheet music ornaments
and covered the branches with
little twinkle lights
Sandra added her vintage Shiney Brights
 in boxes around the table
Her husband , Jack made this display cabinet for us
out of old doors...
IT IS SO AWESOME!!!

We've both been collecting vintage silver so we added several pieces
to the front display with more shiney brights
I re-finished the old doll cabinet
you can't see in this pic but I lined the drawers with old book pages

the stockings were hung
the trees were placed ( no trimmings).... we like'em plain
our Holiday Potpourri and more shiney brights...
and the old blue cabinet is full of vintage treasures

the back wall is adorned with the chippy white screen doors
purchased @ Southern Comforts in Concord, NC
Thanks to Ms Beth @ Olde Tyme Marketplace for that
awesome tip...we got four...and love them all!

a little Christmas is spread through-out the space
this little tree is full of handmade ornaments

this a view of the left side of the space...

and of the right side of the space....
Sandra kept telling me...
"we have alot of stuff!"
But I love it totally FULL...
My favorite spaces in antique malls are the ones that
are full of treasures!
You can be sure that JUNK WILD
is overflowing with some great stuff!
