This is my very first time being part of a link party...

(I hope I get it right! ) here it goes...

Inspiration for me comes from alot of different places...

but I have found a wonderful resource

here in blogland that I use alot.

 I am a newbie to blogging so many of you

 may already know about SuzieBeezie.

I am deep into creating new things for my and Sandra's Fall Craft

show so here are a few photos that are inspiring me .....

Apple season is here!

It's Apple season in North Carolina!

 I love apples!

 Eating them, picking them

 and making yummy recipes with them.

Like this one from my most favorite place in

the North Carolina mountains--

Asheville...the Grove Park Inn!

If you have never been...you gotta go!

There's so much to see...

the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway

Biltmore Estate

it really is something to see and Fall is the best time!

So back to the recipe...

Here it is...hope you enjoy it!

NC Apple Crisp w/ Walnuts & Bourbon

3/4 cup of oats

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/8 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup plus 2 tbs flour

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1/2 cup butter - room temp

Filling:

2 1/2 lbs apples

1 cup chopped walnuts

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 tbs flour

1/4 cup bourbon

1/2 trsp cinnamon

2 tbs butter

Peel , Core and slice apples. Toss with sugar, flour & cinnamon.

Add Walnuts and Bourbon. Toss in mix.

Spread apple mixture into buttered 8 x 8 baking pan

Evenly spread crumb topping over

Bake @ 350 approximately 35 minutes

or until top is golden & apples are tender.

Serve Warm.

Delicious with Ice Cream!!

August Celebrations!!

This month I'm celebrating with lots of family and friends...

birthdays..new babies... lots of fun times!

Last weekend we celebrated with my niece Kayla for her 18th Birthday.

 A very special friend, Steph, celebrated her birthday as well the week before.

Yesterday I got the call that my sweet cousin, Beth and her husband Casey

 were blessed with a new baby boy, Ethan Scott!

 Sandra and Jack also had a special Anniversary this week!

 Congrats to great friends!!!

This week brings my niece , Emma's 2nd birthday  and also

my GrandDaughter , Hannah's, 2nd Birthday...

two big parties this weekend!!

 I feel so blessed that I have so many loved ones around me to celebrate with!

These really are special times ....

I've been really busy with all the prepartions for Hannah's Enchanted Fairy Party, I'll post pics soon.

I'll be ready for a beach vaca next week!!!

with my sweetie! Can't wait!!!

 Celebrations will continue at the beach with....

Lauren ( my other daughter) turning 23 on the 18th and

a very special Birthday with Ben ( my sweetie's Step Father)

who will celebrate his 89th birthday.....Good Times!!!

so.....I'll take a little down time with the kids at the beach.....

 and then... return to dive full force

 into the preparations for the

Fall Shows Sandra & I  have planned.

 Lots of sewing, painting and jewelry making to be done.

I have so many projects on my list...so I gotta get busy!

Summer Sale!!!

It's surely the Dog Days of Summer Now...almost 100 today here in Charlottte with heat index of 105!! Geez !!

Feels like a SALE to me!!

SO....Sandra and I are having a sale in our booth this month,

 then we are  re-designing with new displays and new "old" stuff for the Fall!

 Linconlton's Annual Apple Festival is in September so we're shooting for that event to have as much finished as possible. We are both working on projects for the Big Sale at her home in November.

 It's always a good time!

Her Mom, Peggy, the Magnificent Baker has homemade SourDough Bread, Jams, Pecan Pies, Cakes , Fudge, Peanut Brittle and tons of other goodies for sale!!

We're planning on adding a Vintage Goods Area to the show this year as well. More on all that later....

I'm still working on the Enchanted Fairy Party...just about to have it all together!! I can't wait to post pics!

I'm thinking I'll miss Metro Expo this weekend...just TOO MUCH on my plate. I need a little break!

AND...maybe another trip to the beach before the end of August!!

Sweet Hannah is turning 2!!!

These freakin' HOT Carolina days are wearing me out! Except for a few early morning hours on Saturday spent shopping for supplies for my Sweet Hannah's birthday party...I've been inside all weekend! My daughter and I have completed several things already, I feel good because the party is 3 weeks away and we're off to a good start! The theme is "Enchanted Fairies"/Tinkerbell" - Hannah LOVES Tink!! A BIG Thank You to Michelle over @ Vintage Junky for a resource she gave me on some great ideas for the party!

I have alot of other projects to finish this week so it's going to be a busy one! PLUS I have to pack up the laptop today and send it off to Dell to have the touch pad replaced! UGH!! But...this will give me more time to work on my task list...and I do have the desktop

 ( but it's just not the same...I know I'm weird!)

Sunday Fun

I just added these sweet little music boxes to the booth last week, they both work perfectly ...the one on the bottom has mickey mouse inside...cute right? and they have a wonderful " loved much " look to them. I found them at a thrift shop in North Myrtle Beach while there a few weeks ago....

And ...Be still my heart....this beautiful Cabinet is in the booth next to us ...I just LOVE IT!!!

I'm in the midst of moving my Sewing/Work Room from upstairs to downstairs in the town home..and I want this for all my STUFF!! But it WILL have to wait.....

and then we went to Beth's/Olde Thyme Marketplace - Shop Keepers Sunday event

this past weekend and I saw a ton more stuff I wanted...

It was so great meeting Beth and her husband ( the BBQ was awesome Mr. OTM...you rock!)

 and also Janna from Artsy Fartsy Finds

and Tammy from Refunked Junk was there. here are some pics...

Beth's shop in Marshville , NC is Awesome...I can't wait to go back. We headed out to Sleepy Poets Antique Mall ( both Beth and Janna have booths there )  afterwards and had a blast there too...but we didn't have enough time to see it all so we get to go back! YAH!! It was a great way to spend a Sunday! Sandra even packed us a picnic lunch..homemade chicken salad sandwiches and......

Red Velvet Cupcakes...YUM!!!

I'm busy this week making pickles, getting my Creative Space together, working on my project list for our Show in November, and oh yeah...WORK...gotta fit that in there somewhere.

There's just never enough time to do all the fun stuff I want to do...But I do love blogland and all the great friends we're making here. THANK YOU to all the followers we have, we're excited that you are here and enojy what we do! Our Booth Space @ Treasures On Main in Lincolnton, NC will get revamped soon ...we're working on some neat ideas for displays...etc...and look forward to sharing them with you!

A New Friend...

While visiting Metro Expo this month, not only were there some great vintage finds there was also a new friend found...Tammy @ ReFunked Junk has a great space in Bldg. 13, she's also at The Depot @ Gibson Mill in Concord, NC. A fast friend she was too! Got lots of great ideas from her and some of the best items purchased that day were from her! I just Love Junkin' Buddies don't you?  Here are a few pics!

A handful of new finds...

Here's just a handful of new finds that are going to the booth this week. The picnic basket is FULL of finds, just didn't have time to photograph them all. The beaded flowers in the glass jar are very old and in such great shape...I love them!
